Major Milestone at Alameda’s WETA Project

P站视频 crew poured concrete for the second floor deck yesterday, a significant milestone because it opens up the project for interior framing and mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection work to take place in the above-ceiling space. Working through one of the industry’s busiest periods, P站视频 crew pushed through manpower聽and procurement challenges. The design/build project required a collective approach to solving design issues聽and making dynamic schedule adjustments. The team’s can do attititude聽made聽it happen, specifically the long hours and聽creativity聽of Mike Handley, Ken Brumbaugh, Mike Persons, Fernando Silva, and Erica Bartlett.
The Central Bay Operations and Maintenance (O & M) Facility will be the future home of the Water Emergency Transportation Authority鈥檚 (WETA) central San Francisco Bay ferry fleet, providing a consolidated base for WETA to maintain vessels operating on its 聽Alameda/Oakland, Alameda Harbor Bay, and South San Francisco ferry routes, as well as future Richmond and Treasure Island service under development. The facility will also include an Operations Control Center for service dispatch and an Emergency Operations Center that willserve as a primary location for WETA to coordinate the provision of emergency transportation services.
P站视频/Power, a joint venture聽is聽providing design/build services for the new聽facility. The O&M facility is聽a 28,000 SF,聽70 ft. high, four-story located along the Alameda Point shoreline, next to the USS Hornet Naval Shipyard. The facility will support light repair and maintenance work, spare parts storage, concession supply, administrative office space, records storage and deliveries. A diesel fuel facility with a storage capacity of 45,000 gallon will also be constructed. It is designed as an emergency operations center capable of handling passenger service in the event of a major disaster. The waterside work includes dredging, marine piles, marine floats and berthing facility, and the seawall. The project is聽designed for LEED Gold certification and the聽team includes Power Engineering, Shaw Kawaski Architects and Liftech Consultants.
