]]> A community-led renovation of the historic Lafayette Park Theater is underway. Originally opened in 1941, the Art Deco landmark sat vacant for two decades.
In 2019, local residents formed The Park Theater Trust鈥攁 501(c)(3) public benefit organization鈥攖o restore the theater and reimagine it as an accessible hub for arts, entertainment, and culture. With a grant from the City of Lafayette and generous support from local businesses and families, construction is now in progress.聽 The project will feature two state-of-the-art theaters operated by CinemaSF, plus a community room, rooftop bar, concessions, and more.

Built in several phases, the project includes ground improvements and utility work, greenhouse, shade house, composting toilet, classroom, toolshed and breakroom, commercial kitchen, offices, amphitheater, farm stand, history walk as well as extensive orchards and row crops.
